Tranny acts like in neutral. i have a 1995 ford escort wagon 1.9 litre automatic.?

when i take a left or sharp left the tranny acts like it in neutral and its in drive. Acts like in neutral in every gear u put it in. Including reverse. Until u shut it off and wait for a bit then start it again and most time get goin again like tranny is fine. Until u take a left again. Then whoop. Feel like neutral again. But fluid is at proper level. Its still red and dont smell burned. And No gritty feeling. It shifts fine and smooth when u go down highway and downshifts fine as well. My steering wheel vibrates a little when it idles. But i believe my motor mounts are fine. But please help.
