Why is everyone so surprised at the sharks doing so well?
I am not because of there new clogging the neutral zone the 1-3-1 system is a great way to play hockey. They are gritty, tough and strong. they have sensational depth down the middle, there offensive depth is the deepest in the league, yes vancouver has the tree top scoring players in the league and it falls off after that. San Jose has Joe thornton, Devon Setougouchi, Patrick Marlleau, Ryan Clowe, Logan Couture, Dany Heatley, Joe Pavelski, DAn Boyle, and Ian White. that is tremendous scoring depth. they all take a defensive role, Boule knows what it takes to win and so does niemi. I really like Doug Murray, a great shut down stay at home and bone crushing d-man. and there dominance over the Red Wings in the last two years including the playoffs now is 15-2. the test is next round. and not to mention vlasic is a good piece to the puzzle. So i like there chances this year.
